On Friday we were delighted to welcome 13 local primary schools to compete in the 7-a-side tournament for the Breda Academy Primary School Football Tournament at The Olympia Football Stadium.
Our Northern Ireland Football League Scholarship students did an amazing job in organising and running the tournament. Each primary school was assigned a coach who became as competitive, if not more so, than the primary students!
Following competitive group stages the competition split into 2 sections; the Plate and the Cup:

Plate Runner-Up – Belvoir Park Primary
Plate 3rd Place – Lisnasharragh Primary School
Cup Winner - Cregagh Primary School
Cup Runner-Up – Orangefield Primary School
Cup 3rd Place – Cairnshill Primary School
There was a lot of exceptional talent on display, meaning the individual awards were extremely difficult to select. The Goalkeeper of the Tournament went to Cregagh Primary’s shot stopper Harley, who was excellent throughout and made the crucial winning save in the Cup.
Numerous names were mentioned for the Player of the Tournament award, with the prize going to the extremely impressive Orangefield Primary’s number 9 Lewis.
A special thank you to the primary school students and teachers for attending, their enthusiasm led to a truly magical atmosphere. Well done to all teams for their outstanding performances and sportsmanship.
